One thing I struggle with giving up in my life is carbs but most of all pizza. Especially a thin base, woodfire pizza with quality toppings, with crisp charred bubbles on the crust which I save to dip into olive oil and balsamic vinegar... HEAVEN.
My top 5 Melbourne pizza places (because sadly I can't just fly to Naples whenever I want especially with no flights right now).

Doc - Mornington
These pizzas I can not fault ! Woodfired, crisp at the edges, fresh sauce and toppings, it's the perfect combination and the end result that comes out of the wood fire oven is perfection. I recommend ordering 2 different pizzas to share and a caprese salad. But always leave room for dessert. Let's be honest though, there is always room for nutella pizza.
48 hour pizza and gnocchi bar (South Yarra & Elsternwick)
This place makes deciding between pizza and gnocchi hard! Which ever one you choose though you are never disappointed. I always try and make someone go half half with me because I want the best of both worlds. Paired with a glass of wine!
400 Gradi - Brunswick and Crown Casino

My go to for a classic Marghertia! This is still my all time favourite. With an amazing variety of white and red base pizzas you truly can not go wrong here. This was my first wood fire pizza experience in Melbourne many many years ago and I will never forget the first time I sat in this restaurant and devoured an entire pizza to myself.
If you don't always feel like pizza they have a great selection of pasta and mains including my favourite cotoletta milanese (drools).

Just Italy
With 7 locations you are always near great pizza! From their homemade meatballs, San Danielle pizza to their homemade eggplant lasagna it is pure happiness on plates. Each bite makes you want to go back for more. To finish off their cannoli are bites of heaven. They even have woodfire frozen pizza and plain bases available for you to cook whenever you like at home! A25 Pizzeria - South Yarra
A25 where I want to order one of everything off the menu. They even have a whole vegan section on their menu. With their neon 'pizza is sexy ' sign they know their stuff. The Bunga Bunga pizza is all my favourite toppings in one; quality red sauce, mushrooms, Italian pork sausage and fior di latte! I need to order one now. Their menu explains their Tiramisu perfectly 'no need for explanation, it‘s a winner!'
But wait there's more...

The Vegie Bar - Fitzroy
I never would have thought these pizza's were vegan or vegetarian while eating this. They are amazing! Great bases with "chicken nuggets" on top. I even tried to order a bowl of just these fake chicken nuggets they were that good! For all those who think they would still be hungry eating vegan or vegetarian I suggest you give this place a visit to enjoy their cocktails and pizza. While you're at it try the rest of their menu because it is AMAZING!
Pizza Pizza Pizza - Meyers Lane Melbourne CBD.
This isn't your traditional Roman or Napoli pizza but their mushroom pizza is delicious. Especially at 2am in the morning, down a little Melbourne alley. I love this place because it's a bit of a secret that I am sharing. They are a small pizza shop at the front but if you walk through the back it is a hidden bar with delicious cocktails, snacks and huge pizzas to share (or have to yourself I won't judge). Perfect idea for a date or getting the group together for a few drinks and delicious food.
Where's your favourite pizza place that I should try?
Da Adriana.
