Where we stayed - Sorrento

Updated: Jun 17, 2020

This was my third time visiting gorgeous Sorrento, Italy. Usually I would stay in hotels which were higher up on the mountain and over looked Sorrento. This time I decided to stay in the heart of Sorrento at Sersale Suites. Since staying so close to Piazza Tasso Sorrento, I won't be changing my hotel choice for a while.

Sersale Suites recently had renovated and opened to the public for stays in July 2019. We were one of the first to stay in these fresh, newly renovated suites. They were modern but still very Italian. With lights that changed colours in the shower, plugs to charge the phones near the bed and space to spend the week it was the perfect stay to show my mum around for her first time in Sorrento.

We were walking distance from all my favourite places.

Piazza Tasso - the shopping strip of Sorrento was the next street over taking us 30 seconds to walk to.

We had a deli and supermarket across from us which was amazing to walk a few steps to buy fresh ingredients for sandwiches for the day.

The beach was a 5 minute walk and on the way near the Church in Sorrento is a place to book all your travel activities including tours to Capri, the Blue Grotto, Amalfi Coast, Positano, Ravello, Pompeii, Mt Vesuvius and more.

My favourite beach to visit was Leonelli's beach which turned into a restaurant at night.

The sunset views from the top of the ramp that takes you down to beaches is breathe taking.

We had bars, pubs and restaurants all nearby and each street had its own surprises of restaurants to try, coffee and dessert bars, shopping and treats selling all things lemon.

The train station was a 10 minute walk from our hotel in case we wanted to travel to Naples from Sorrento or to Pompeii.

Breakfast was served every morning in the communal area which did not disappoint with traditional Italian favourites, coffee and dessert. The rooms were spotless and cleaned every day.

We had access to the most amazing bars nearby including D'anton design and bistrot, Bellavista, English Inn and more. Beware there is three Bellavista bars in Sorrento all overlooking the beautiful water view so make sure if your meeting up with people you're all going to the right one! We may have made this mistake... oops.

What were your favourite highlights from Sorrento or dream destinations to see there?

Would love some ideas for my next trip. looking forward to planning another trip to Sorrento hopefully in 2021. Fingers crossed.
